Ravenclaw

Ravenclaw is one of the four Houses of Hogwarts, the other three being: Gryffindor, Hufflepuff and Slytherin.

Characteristics of a Ravenclaw student are intelligence, creativity, wit and wisdom. The houses’ animal is the eagle and its colours are blue and bronze. Ravenclaw’s ghost is the Grey Lady and Filius Flitwick is the head of house.

Rowena Ravenclaw

Rowena Ravenclaw was a clever and creative witch who came from either Scotland or Ireland.

Ravenclaw selected students based on there wisdom, creativity and cleverness. Instead of having a password to the Ravenclaw dormitories the students must solve a riddle. If they fail, they have to wait for another student to come along and solve the riddle, this way they will learn.

Ravenclaw’s lost diadem became another of the Voldemort’s horcruxes.

Ravenclaw’s famous quote is, “Wit beyond measure is a man’s greatest treasure”.
